Signs of the Zodiac

Moving on to the next awesome series on my list, Signs of the Zodiac series. You probably see a trend here, I am definitely a huge fan of Urban Fantasy ;-) This series is a different story than most. It is best described as very dark, gritty, violent and one of the best stories in urban fantasy. It is a pretty lengthy read, but I finished it in one setting. This story probably isn't for everyone, which would explain the mixed reviews, but if you are true a fan of dark urban fantasy, I believe you will enjoy the read. Joanna, the heroine in the book, has had a far from easy life...she is damaged beyond belief and focused on revenge. The premise is based on two faction forces known as the Light and Shadow. There is a war between the super factions called the Light, comprised of people from the different star signs of the zodiac, and the Shadow, their evil opposites in the spectrum or for better description the demons. Joanna is Half Light and Half Shadow, so no one truly trusts here. Hell, after everything she has been through she doesn't even trust herself. I personally loved how this story evolved. But again, be warned, this is a dark tale with some violent scenes, which can relate it to the horror genre. All I can say is that this is one hell of an action packed series, the story building is fantastic and the characters are so unique and intriguing. The reading order is as follows:
Book One - The Scent of Shadows, The First Sign of the Zodiac
